Diplex with powered OTA and Wally

I live on a boat and I'm trying to avoid running a second coax cable through my deck. I currently have a Wingard X1 dish with a wally receiver. I understand I should be fine with a diplexer on both ends to run an OTA antenna through the same coax. However, I'm less clear if that will work with a powered OTA antenna. Most of the good longer range OTA antenna are powered and don't understand how that will work with a diplex setup. Can that be done, or do I need to run the power to the OTA...

I am a little surprised that there is not already a thread on this subject.

Last week, we started receiving the HD feeds of WE and Bloomberg. These channels are not in free preview. I was not sure if this was a mistake or not. Then, last night, Dish added four more HD channels to my Welcome Pack subscription.

The Welcome Pack channels we currently receive in HD:

  • Comedy Central
  • WE
  • CMT
  • AXS*
  • Discovery Family*
  • Hallmark
  • Bloomberg
  • Weather Channel

Switch to DirectTV

Hi,

I keep debating upgrading my Dish 722 equipment, or just switching over to DirecTV. I like the idea of having HBO again and that NHL Center Ice actually has HD feeds from Canadian teams. What are the downsides about DirectTV though in comparison? No need for snide remarks etc, just asking.

Pioneer plasma tv and Hopper

Just traded in my original Hopper for a Hopper 3. Having two problems, one is Netflix when it loses the WiFi signal it reboots the Hopper...is this normal?

The other problem is when I first turn it on the screen displays the Pioneer tv menu guide and says input 6 which is is HDMI on my Pioneer remote. Then to get out of that screen I have to press enter on the Pioneer remote. This shouldn't happen. What to do?

This morning my H3 was stuck in "Starting up 9999" loop. I called support and requested it be replaced. The agent said it would be 2-4 business days which I said was unacceptable. I asked for overnight delivery and was told that I would be charged $35. Again I told her that this was not acceptable. After several minutes she came back with the Dish silver plan for 9.99 with a $20 shipment charge. Again I asked for free overnight delivery. After some time on hold she came back and said she was...

RSN removals - I feel your pain

For all you folks who have had DISH drop your RSN's - I now feel your pain.

I live in Hawaii where they think the California RSN's are our RSN's and two of our four RSN's have been dropped because of the recent dispute.

In my case, I want to see Rangers and Islanders hockey games. I subscribe to NHL Center Ice to do this and tonight (as I write this), the Rangers are playing LA Kings.

Unfortunately, I'm supposed to be watching the game on a channel that DISH no longer...

Becareful when buying any Dish Network Equipment from a Seller on Ebay. We bought a Dish Joey from a Seller on Ebay. I connected it to my Hopper and was going to let it go through setup. It would not setup, it put up a message to call Dish. I called Dish
and they told me the Joey was all ready registerd to another customer and could not be added to my account. Dish ask me where I got this Joey, I told them a thrift shop!!! MESSAGE TO ANYONE BE AWARE WHEN BUYING DISH NETWORK EQUIPMENT FROM...

I just got a 4K TV and Dish channels on a Joey 3 look subpar. Streamed content on my Roku Ultra looks awesome. Would getting a Joey 4K or finding a way to connect the H3 to this TV help, even though all of the live TV isn’t 4K content?

What’s the lowest package would have 4K in included?. I hear good things about the Hopper 3 and would consider it and switch from DirecTV. I like that it outputs 4K right from H3 and not needing clients since I have only one set.

Wally keeps downloading weird software version

So, I am trying to update my Wally to the U806 software. Each time I try, it keeps downloading a weird software version, JTC1.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? I would hate to have to get a replacement Wally because of this issue, but I also want to make sure that I have the correct software version. Any help would be appreciated.

New Slab Installation

Attached is the latest 40.0 remote control color button menu shortcut list dated 13 Dec 2019. Did not find any color button changes due to the Hopper 3 software version U543 update.

Joey won't advance right

Bebooting the Joey 2 fixed this. But this has happened twice in the last week. On a random fully recorded show, jump ahead or back jumps to a random place and displays Live at the bottom corner. Multiple presses act as one press.

Fast forward and reverse (hold down buttons) doesnt do that and instead acts as a single button press above.

Reboot fixes it.

Just put up a couple Philips 4k Smart TVs in our rec room side by side. Have a Joey 3 that works fine on either tv when wired directly to them. Installed a couple of splitters, 1 in, 2 out (one for Joey and another for XBox One S) so either device can be used on either TV at a given time without moving wires/components around. The XBox works perfectly with both splitters (tested both to see if the one the Joey was using was defective, but both work fine on the XBox). Both TVs...
