Loss of channels

Just a note to installers, do not leave cable connected that is not in use. I had loss of 72 for a week, I thought it was rain, well it was because rain shorted out a cable that was hooked to my eastern arch dish that shouldn't have been there. I removed and got all my channels back. Instead of disconnecting he stuffed the loose end down the support pipe. Back to normal now.

Hi guys...

Since Team Summit, I have been working hard with DISH CEO Erik Carlson and others at DISH to try getting DISH Support back up to where it use to be.

One of the big issues that caused the changes with DIRT was changes (including laws) in Data Privacy. While we here at SatelliteGuys do everything we can to keep your information secure, lets face it we are on the internet just running a giant database. As hard as we try and we believe we are 99.99% sure we are secure there still...

Got a whole box of dish parts and accessories from Bob Haller’s estate shipped to me the other day.

Got a few 508’s and other ancient dish receivers and accessories.

Correct me if I’m wrong, only Hopper and Wally stuff can be activated ?

I did get a DVR Pal, but I’m keeping that

In 3 weeks, my 2 year commitment to ATT&T / DirecTV will expire.I know what my new contract with them will cost, and it's not good. I'm considering Dish Network + Internet + Phone service, but unlike DirecTV and Spectrum, my only other choices in zip code 32174, Dish Network doesn't have such a convenience. I've tried calling to talk to an Agent, but in each case, they know what they want to sell me and they don't want to listen to my questions.

My Bill for next month with DirecTV will be...

I just upgraded both of my Hopper3 receivers to software version U538.
I have not noticed any obvious changes. If anyone knows what this update addresses please share with everyone.

Error 1523

Turned on the TV this morning and received an error message, 1523- unable to initialize the outdoor unit. Turned on the other H3 and same thing. Tried resetting, red button, then unplugging, same result. Also power cycled the power inserter. Called it in and scheduled a service call. An hour or so later, power cycled one receiver and it came back. Power cycled the other and it too came back.

Turned them off after awhile, and when turning them on later both got the same errors. Unplugged...

I've been a satisfied customer for 12+ years. Due to the need to cut back expenses I've been contemplating dropping Dish but have held off because I do not like any of the linear streaming services, especially the "DVR" they offer. BUT today I called Dish because I've been having intermittent issues for a couple of months with the Hopper3 not getting a satellite signal, it started when we had 90+ MPH winds here in Colorado Springs. I figured the Dish might have gotten out of alignment and...

Dish probably just lost me as a customer

Is the 722k receiver obsolete?

Hi, cancelled Dish and they told me to recycle the unit at the nearest recycling center- Best Buy.. Just wanted to confirm if the 722k is obsolete, are they no longer being used? Seems like a waste to throw away a completely working receiver.

dish hopper only recording end of program

Getting really tired of this. Been going on for a couple years and seems to be getting worse. Prime time events will often start at end of program. The time left is way off also. One hour show will say almost 2 hours. Can usually watch on demand after delete show than have to empty trash.

Everything went fine, the installer finished a little before noon, and I went off to work.

I was watching TV on my joey (small, slave receiver) last evening about 8 PM, and saw a message that I had a remote software update and could cancel it by pressing any key. I pressed any number of keys, but the update wouldn't cancel. I gave up, left the receiver updating, switched inputs on my TV, and watched the rest of my game on mlbtv.com.

As of today, the joey's remote does not work. It can...

722k done?

Hi,

I read on other posts that the 722 might be obsolete. I still have my 722 with a sling adaptor that works fine for me, am I in danger of having to upgrade to a Hopper to keep service? And if I did so does it mean I would have to change my satellite installation, currently I have an eastern arc dish pointed at 61.5 and 72.

Dish will install OTA Antenna...

but only if "they" decide you are worthy. I've been trying for the better part of a week to get someone at Dish to agree to send a technician out to install an OTA antenna at my house.

First I called Dish. The person I spoke to told me Dish wasn't "currently offering antenna installation promotions in my area." I explained I was willing to pay for the installation, but they said, it just wasn't being offered at all. This seems odd to me for two reasons: 1. I've seen several Dish techs...

Any thoughts on how these dishes will do signal wise? I am throwing the 1 metre at Nimiq, as it appears to a CONUS beam and not spot beams like Echo16.

I'm in Southeast Michigan.

For you guys, trying to get into mydish.com will not work and for us technicians we can’t do anything like activate, modify jobs, etc and there’s no timetable on when it will be fixed. Figured I’d come here and let you guys know
